This is just a quick reminder of the shortcuts in Lord of the Deck, since they can make the program much, much easier to use:
• Typing the name of a card selects it in the main list. This is by far the best way to enter your cards into the program if you don't have them already entered into a spreadsheet program. (This function only works properly when the main list is sorted alphabetically.)
• Pressing return is the same as pressing the add button.
• Pressing the backspace key is the same as pressing the LotD delete button.
• Holding down a number key (not on the keypad) while pressing add (or return) or delete (or backspace) will add or delete that quantity of the selected card(s) from your deck.
• Holding down option while clicking on the delete button deletes the entire selected line(s) from your deck.
• Option-clicking on a card in the deck list cycles it's card set. The results of this aren't apparent unless you have checked the card set item under the show menu.
• Option-clicking on the Info button includes land cards in the color, rarity, and set information shown.
• While the program is starting up, you can cancel the loading of card texts, card prices, and/or your collection by typing -. (that's the command key and a period).
Remember!
• The latest Cloister's price list, updated weekly, can be found free of charge at the following sites:
FTP: ftp.hhhh.org in the /pub/pricelists directory
• The card texts in Lord of the Deck are summarized in order to fall in line with the legal guidelines of Wizard's of the Coast. As such, do not depend on these texts to heavily, they are meant only as a detailed "reminder" of what the card does. Do not solve rules debates, etc, from these texts.
Changes made since v2.4
• The Alliances expansion was added.
• The bug that would prevent files being automatically opened if you clicked on the file in the finder was fixed.
Known Bugs
These bugs are known to be in the program, but are considered benign enough to not warrant worrying with them at the moment. I would hope to have them eliminated from the program by the next release.
• If you do not have a folder named 'Collection' in your Lord of the Deck folder and you do have some LotD deck files in the Lord of the Deck folder, then those files will be read in as your collection. Not a big deal, just be sure not to move or trash the Collection folder.
• Some of the summarized texts for creatures are missing their power/toughness.
What's going to be in the next version?
The next version of Lord of the Deck will be a major revision, including a brand-new interface and a lot of additions that I've been wanting to add in to the program for a long time.
Keep in mind that none of this is final, but I'm hoping to include:
• Support for having multiple decks open at once
• More info on collections: how many cards are in your collection, which cards are you missing from the sets, etc
• Tournament legality for decks
• Better printing and text exporting
• Reworking the List Manager to eliminate the 32K limit on the list boxes.
• Much more!
Although I have no definite timetable for this next version, I would hope to have it done by the end of the summer — perhaps releasing it with the Mirage expansion included.
